You may take Dulcolax® Stool Softener anytime. It generally produces a bowel movement within 12 to 72 hours.
How often can I take Dulcolax® Stool Softener? How many can I take and is it safe for daily use?
You may take up to 3 Dulcolax® Stool Softener liquid gels a day for up to 7 days. They may be taken all together or in divided doses. If you need to use a laxative for more than 7 days, consult a doctor.
Can I chew or crush the Dulcolax® Stool Softener liquid gels?
It is recommended that you swallow Dulcolax® Stool Softener liquid gels whole without chewing or crushing.
Can I take mineral oil with Dulcolax® Stool Softener?
No, you cannot take mineral oil with Dulcolax® Stool Softener because the active ingredient in Dulcolax® Stool Softener (docusate sodium) can increase the absorption of mineral oil, which can cause side effects.
